Form does not send emails

Your contact form in the SiteDesigner shows no error after submitting, but no email reaches you? Then not all fields in the form settings are filled in. The form only sends something once everything is entered there. Unfortunately the SiteDesigner does not warn you: the form can still be saved and published, but the requests go nowhere.

This happens especially often when you copy a page or insert a new form and never fill in its settings. Every form has its own settings. So if the form on your home page works, this does not mean that the forms on your other pages work as well.

How to set up the form correctly

  1. Open the SiteDesigner from your customer centre, as described in the article Open the SiteDesigner.
  2. Go to the page with the form and click on the form. The settings open.
  3. Fill in all fields. A grey text in a field is only an example and is not saved. Enter your own text there, even if the example already fits. The most important fields are:
    • Form name, for example «Apartment enquiry»
    • Email address: the requests are sent to this address.
    • Email subject line: the email reaches you with this subject.
    • Form title and Button text
    • the labels of all fields, including your additional fields
    • Privacy label
    • Success page: choose a page of your website, for example the home page. If you leave «Custom» selected, enter an address under URL.
  4. Click on Save.
  5. Repeat this for every form on every page.
  6. Publish the website. The changes only take effect after publishing.

Test the form

Send a test request through every form and check whether it arrives in your mailbox. Also look in the spam folder. The requests come from the sender noreply@webshopmail.ch.

If the request still does not arrive, delete the form, insert it again and set it up as described above. If that does not help either, open a ticket and tell us the address of the affected page.

How to add additional fields is explained in the article 1.22 Setting up a user-defined contact form.
