Switch off Wordpress maintenance mode

  1. Log in to the web administration
  2. Launch the Plesk management interface
  3. Now select your Wordpress installation (1).
  4. Activate and deactivate now the maintenance mode via the switch (2)

The maintenance page is still showing?

If you still see a message such as «We are currently working on the site» or «Sorry, we’re doing some work on the site» although the switch is off, it usually comes from a maintenance mode plugin in your WordPress, for example «UnderConstruction», «Coming Soon» or «Maintenance». How to switch it off:

  1. Log in to the WordPress admin area: https://yourdomain.ch/wp-admin/ (as a logged-in administrator you see the website normally).
  2. Open the settings of the plugin. You usually find them under «Settings» or directly in the left menu under the name of the plugin. For the «UnderConstruction» plugin it is the entry «UnderConstruction» under «Settings».
  3. Set the maintenance or coming soon mode to «Off» and save. Alternatively, you can deactivate the plugin under «Plugins».
  4. Then clear the cache. If a cache plugin is installed (for example WP Fastest Cache, WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache), delete the entire cache there. Otherwise visitors keep seeing the stored maintenance page.
  5. Check the result in a private browser window in which you are not logged in.
