Sign-in blocked with VPN

If you see the message «Zugriff nicht möglich» (access not possible) when opening the customer area, your connection runs through a VPN service, a proxy, the Tor network or a data centre. For security reasons, signing in over such connections is not possible.

How to sign in again

  • Switch off your VPN service or proxy. This includes VPN features in your browser or security software.
  • Reload the page and sign in as usual.
  • If you need the VPN for work, switch it off briefly just to sign in. Many VPN services let you exclude individual websites (split tunnelling). Add admin.firestorm.ch there.

Why we block this

Fake emails lead to copied sign-in pages. These pages pass everything you enter to the real customer area in the background, even the two-factor authentication code. They almost always run on rented servers in data centres. Because signing in from there is not possible, nobody can get into your account this way, even if they have intercepted your login details.

What is blocked?

For data centres and the Tor network we only block signing in: login, two-factor code, password reset and approving a new IP address. For some large VPN services the entire customer area is blocked, including the shop and ordering. Our website www.firestorm.ch remains reachable from any connection.

You are not using a VPN?

Your company network may route traffic through a data centre, or you may be working from your own server. Open https://www.firestorm.ch/ip and send us the IP address shown via https://www.firestorm.ch/en/contact/. We will be happy to check it.
