The most important error codes and their meanings

 

Here you can see a list of the most important error messages that can occur in the browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge). Next to the code is always the small text that appears on your screen when you have an error.

 

 

Error Code Error meaning
301 – Moved Permanently Resource/page is permanently changed
401 – Unauthorised Unauthorised
404 – Page not found Page not found
405 – Method not allowed Method not allowed
406 – Not acceptable client No acceptable answer
408 – Timeout error Timeout
411 –  The server refuses to accept the request without a defined Content-Length                 header. The server refuses to accept the request without a defined Content-Length header.
413 – Payload Too Large response Payload too large
414 – URI is to long URI is too long
