Email Ports for IMAP, POP3, SMTP

What are the email ports?

There are several different email servers available to you. We recommend to use IMAP and SMTP with SSL encryption.

Server names

* Replace sr00.firestorm.ch with your own server number. The server name can be found in the administration interface of the hosting package under Server

Important: always connect encrypted

Always set SSL/TLS in your mail program: IMAP 993, POP3 995 and SMTP 465 (or SMTP 587 with STARTTLS). For security reasons, unencrypted connections (IMAP 143 and POP3 110) are no longer possible. This mainly affects older accounts set up by hand on a smartphone: if you suddenly can no longer retrieve mail there while your PC keeps working, switch the account to SSL/TLS.

If a certificate warning appears even though SSL is set correctly, check the server name you entered. The certificate is only valid for the server assigned to you (for example sr00.firestorm.ch) or for your own domain name if the automatic SSL certificate is activated in your hosting control panel. A generic or wrong server name leads to a warning.
