View used disk space in your hosting

In the hosting control panel (Plesk) you can see at any time how much disk space your web hosting uses and what it is used for: website files, e-mail, databases, logs and backups.

Note: the screenshots show the English interface. The menu items are in the same places in every language.

Step 1: Open the hosting control panel

Log in to your hosting control panel (Plesk): how to log in

Step 2: Open Statistics

Click Statistics in the menu on the left. If the menu is collapsed, you only see the icons. Statistics is the icon with the three bars.

Step 3: Read the usage

In the Disk space section you see the total usage at the top and, on the right, the disk space included in your plan. Below, Usage by services shows how the space is divided:

  • Web: the files of your website
  • Mail: all mailboxes together
  • Databases: all databases together
  • Logs: access and error logs of the website
  • Backups: backups you created yourself in the hosting control panel

Update the values

The values are recalculated automatically once a day. If you have just deleted or uploaded many files, click Refresh usage stats to see the current figures right away.

Usage of individual mailboxes and databases

  • Mailboxes: under Mail, the Usage column shows for each e-mail address how much space it uses and how large its mailbox is.
  • Databases: under Databases, the size is shown for each database.

Running out of space?

In most cases it helps to delete old backups, files you no longer need and old e-mails. To have your mailbox cleaned up automatically, see Clean up mailbox automatically. If you need more space permanently, you can switch to a larger plan in the customer center under Services.
