How and where can I cancel my domain?

This guide applies to cancelling a domain and to transferring a domain to another provider. You receive the required auth code (also called transfer code, EPP code or authorisation code) with the cancellation confirmation.

The following requirements must be met in order to cancel online:
1. The invoice for this product must be paid, no open debt collection.
2. Outside the 30-day notice period.
3. Cancel at least 30 days before the subscription renewal.

How to cancel your domain
Log in to our admin interface and click on Domains => Tools => Cancel Domain. Now follow the wizard. The account holder receives a link by email to confirm the cancellation. As soon as the cancellation has been confirmed, you will receive a cancellation confirmation by email.

Auth code for the transfer to another provider
If you want to transfer your domain to another provider, the new provider needs the auth code. It is included in the cancellation confirmation. The auth code is valid for 10 days, the transfer must take place within this period. Until the transfer is completed, website, email and DNS records remain active with us unchanged.

Please note:
After the transfer, the DNS records of the domain are no longer managed by us. Therefore, set up all DNS records with the new provider beforehand. You can find instructions under Change DNS records.
A hosting package linked to the domain is not cancelled automatically and must be cancelled separately.
If the domain is not transferred, it will be deleted at the end of the contract and can then be registered by someone else.
