Find server by IP address

Sometimes you only have the IP address of a server but do not know whose server it is. To solve this problem, proceed as follows:

1. Connect to a Windows system
2. With the software tool Advanced IP Scanner, you can find out the NetBIOS name and the MAC address.

Alternatively:

1. Connect to a Linux system
2. Ping the server:
   ping 123.123.123.13
3. Display the ARP list:
   arp -a
4. The MAC address is now displayed.
