The auth code is a security code that authorises the domain transfer. You obtain it from your current domain registrar, usually in the customer area or by contacting support. Without this code, no transfer can take place.
No, no emails are lost during the domain transfer. DNS settings remain active during the transfer. We recommend planning the email configuration in advance so everything continues to run smoothly.
For .ch domains, the transfer usually takes just a few hours. International domains like .com or .de typically require three to five business days. During this time, your domain remains reachable and functional.
The transfer itself is included in the regular domain costs. The domain is extended by one year during the transfer. There are no additional transfer fees. You only pay the regular annual domain price.
