ⓘ Maximum certificate validity shortened to 200 days since March 2026
The CA/Browser Forum has limited the maximum validity of SSL certificates worldwide to 200 days. This applies to all certificate authorities and all providers, not just us.
What does this mean for you?
- With a 1-year subscription, your certificate is automatically reissued once during the term.
- Firestorm hosting customers: We install the new certificate on your server automatically, you do not have to do anything.
- External hosting: You receive an e-mail with the new certificate and have to install it on your server again.
From 2027 the validity will be shortened further to 100 days and from 2029 to 47 days. This makes an automated solution all the more important, talk to us!
